This sculpt is not directly related to  the beheading of Holofernes but its more an existential metaphor. Anyway Holofernes was an Assyrian general. In the story, Judith, a beautiful widow, entering the tent of Holofernes due of his desire for her.  He destroy Judith's home. Drunk with, he passes out and is decapitated by Judith.
